WHO ARE WE?

LATINOS UNIDOS DE NAPA is working to end discrimination against Latinos living and working in Napa County, California. We have been advocating for more affordable housing for farmworkers and other low income families in Napa County for over 10 years. Latinos Unidos filed a lawsuit against Napa County in 2003 because the County was in violation of state laws concerning affordable housing. In an agreement we reached with the County in 2004, the County agreed to provide land where affordable housing could be built, but government officials later refused to allow water services to these areas. Not a single unit of affordable housing was built on the land.

We have now filed another lawsuit against the County. CLICK HERE to see a copy of the lawsuit. The State of California has also ruled that Napa County is violating state laws in its housing policies. The City of Napa has also built very little housing affordable to the many workers in the hotels, restaurants, wineries and other businesses, and we have filed a similar lawsuit to try to change their policies also.
